World War II - 1939-1945

World War II is often considered to be one of the most important (if not the most important) events in US and World History. A quick glance at Amazon.com shows over 30,000 books (30 in the last month alone) written on the war, close to 1000 movies and tv series and even 200 video games dedicated to the Second World War. Countless topics and subtopics of interest from The Holocaust to Pearl Harbor to The Tuskegee Airmen to the dropping of the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki (to name a tiny fraction) exist within the confines of the war and deserve further study. The purpose of this blog will be to learn more about many of these subtopics and explore themes within the war, hopefully enriching ourselves and others.
